RCCG Assistant General Overseer, Folagbade Aboaba is dead

Assistant Basic Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Prof. Folagbade Aboaba has handed on on the age of 90.

Prof. Aboaba died on Monday morning 23, January after a quick sickness.

He was one of many closest allies of the Basic Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye.

Based on a press release by Prof Folarin Alonge who confirmed the information, the late scholar was one of many founding fathers of the institute and was all the time passionate concerning the development of Agricultural Engineering and mechanisation within the nation.

He wrote;

“Certainly one of our Fathers within the occupation, Prof. Fola Aboaba, has gone residence. He was a Professor of Professors of Professors.
Prof Folagbade Olajide Aboaba was an Emeritus Professor of Agricultural Engineering at College of Ibadan and the Pioneering Dean of the School of Expertise (1976-1982). I used to be privileged to be taught by him at each undergraduate and Masters class. He was a mentor to a number of individuals and professors.
He was the Government Secretary of Committee of Vice Chancellors of Nigerian Universities (1992-1998). He was the founding Professional Chancellor of Redeemers College (2005-2013). He was the Chairman of Governing Council of Federal Institute of Industrial Analysis Oshodi (FIIRO), Lagos (1976-1979).
He died on the age of 90.
I had a chat with him on Sept 15, 2022, once we had been making ready of NIAE convention in Asaba (Delta State). His response to my asking about him is ‘Thanks. Ageing slowly however advantageous. Glory to God. God bless you’. Baba was a stunning, cheerful and good man.
He was one of many founding members of the NIAE. He performed important function with different fathers in institution of Nationwide Centre for Agricultural Mechanization, Ilorin. He made substantial contributions to the expansion of NSAE (NIAE). His final main public lecture he delivered for NIAE was once we had been invited to Presidential villa, Abuja in 2004 by the then Vice President. Late Prof John Ohu was the NIAE Nationwide Chairman then. He was all the time focused on listening to the progress NIAE is making.
He was a member of American Society of Agricultural and Organic Engineers (ASABE) in addition to Establishment of Agricultural Engineers UK.
Could his soul discover everlasting relaxation in God.”
