Some repentant terrorists took to the streets of Maiduguri, the Borno capital on Saturday morning, August 13, to beg for forgiveness from residents of the state as they carried out sanitation train.
The sanitation train was organized by the Centre for Democracy and Improvement (CDD) in collaboration with the Borno state authorities.
The repentant insurgents wore T-shirts that had the phrases ‘Please forgive us’, ‘Now we have repented’, and ‘Let’s rebuild Borno once more’ inscribed on them.
Talking on the train, Mala Mustafa, a senior analysis fellow with CDD, stated the train is a part of efforts to arrange them for his or her reintegration course of.
