
Nigerian chef and YouTuber, Yemisi Sophie Odusanya, popularly referred to as Sisi Yemmie, has revealed that she and her husband weren’t allowed to vote within the governorship election in Lagos state.
She took to Twitter to boost alarm after she was turned away by alleged thugs who claimed that they appear to be Igbos.
She posted a video of her confronting the thugs after she was accused of being from the Japanese a part of Nigeria, however they insisted that she is Igbo.
One of many thugs was heard telling her that even when she was born in Lagos, she isn’t an indigene of the state and wouldn’t be allowed to vote.
Sisi Yemmie additional disclosed that the thugs requested for the political occasion she was planning to vote for and when she refused to offer a direct response, she was denied entry into the polling unit.
She tweeted,
“My husband and I weren’t allowed to vote. They mentioned we appear to be Igbo individuals. I can’t imagine this. Roman Catholic Church awoyaya,
And sure, they requested if I used to be going to vote APC, I mentioned enable me enter first. Then they locked the gate . So a lot of them.
I used to be born in lagos. I’m a lagos lady. That is my “village” however I used to be not allowed to vote as a result of I don’t appear to be Yoruba?”
